Most guests arrive at Anakeesta with a list. Ride Hellbender. Walk the Treetop Skywalk. Watch the sun drop behind the Smokies from Clifftop.
Between those stops, guests find themselves browsing the boutique tucked inside a freshly painted fairy-tale building, pulling kids away from a toy store that earned their full attention, or lingering inside a massive trading post at the base of a mountain coaster stacked floor-to-ceiling with bear plushies.
Shopping at Anakeesta is part of the mountain itself.

Table of Contents
1. Firefly Village
Firefly Village is the central gathering area of Anakeesta, where winding pathways, live music, fire pits, and mountain views come together. As part of our Making More Magic expansion, the village just underwent its most substantial transformation since the park opened.
Building facades throughout the village received a full exterior refresh, new stone pathways were relaid, a decorative stream now meanders through the space, and covered bridges and seating areas have been added throughout. The overall effect is a space that rewards slow exploration, with something new to notice at every turn.
Three retail shops anchor the Firefly Village shopping experience.
- Catching Fireflies: A long-time guest favorite, Catching Fireflies carries women’s apparel, jewelry, home accents, and accessories in vibrant pinks, purples, golds, and plenty of glitter. Following the Making More Magic refresh, the boutique has a more curated feel, with a tighter selection that leans into its mountain boutique identity.
- Adventure Outpost: Anakeesta’s primary souvenir shop, Adventure Outpost, is stocked with logoed t-shirts, hoodies, hats, keychains, and more. It’s a reliable stop for guests picking up a gift or looking for something to remember the visit. Keep an eye out for Crystal Express merchandise here as well, available now that our new gondola has officially joined the Anakeesta experience.
- Willow’s Toyshop: Willow’s Toyshop carries nature and adventure-themed toys, including plush animals, slime, telescopes, and mini building blocks. It’s a good stop for families, particularly with younger kids in tow.
2. Stone Village
Stone Village sits at a different elevation than Firefly Village and carries a more rugged, outdoors-forward character. The area is home to Fur Trader, Anakeesta’s newest and largest retail space, positioned right at the exit of the Hellbender Mountain Coaster.
Fur Trader’s merchandise leans into the natural world of the Smokies, with a heavy focus on black bear-themed products. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is home to an estimated 1,900 black bears, and bear activity is documented regularly throughout the year. Guests on Anakeesta’s summit have spotted bears on the slopes below, and a bear plushie from Fur Trader is a fitting souvenir, whether you spot one or not.
Beyond bear-themed items, Fur Trader carries a broad selection of nature-inspired apparel, gifts, and keepsakes. Following our Making More Magic expansion, new merchandise has been added to the shelves, with the additions continuing to build on the store’s outdoors-focused identity.
3. Trailhead Plaza
Located near the entrance to Astra Lumina, Trailhead is positioned to serve guests heading into or out of Anakeesta’s signature nighttime experience. The shop carries Astra Lumina-themed merchandise, and new products have recently been added to the inventory with more on the way. For guests who’ve visited Trailhead before, the selection has grown.
4. Great Outdoors Trading Company
Down at street level on the Parkway, the Great Outdoors Trading Company carries Smoky Mountain-branded apparel and souvenirs, and no summit ticket is required to browse. The shop is a convenient option for guests who want to pick up a souvenir without a full visit, or for anyone who wants to explore Anakeesta’s merchandise on a shorter trip to Gatlinburg.
Tips for Shopping at Anakeesta
A few things worth keeping in mind as you plan your visit:
- Build in time between attractions: The shops at Anakeesta are spread across the park’s different villages, and the best browsing happens naturally when you slow down between rides and experiences. Guests who give themselves room to wander tend to get more out of the retail side of the mountain.
- Stop at Fur Trader after Hellbender: The shop sits right at the Hellbender Mountain Coaster exit. It’s easy to walk past in the post-ride momentum, so make a deliberate stop, especially if you’re traveling with kids or looking for a standout souvenir.
- Hit Catching Fireflies and Adventure Outpost while you’re in Firefly Village: Both shops are located in the heart of Firefly Village, so they’re a natural stop while you’re already in the area. If you’re grabbing a bite at the Smokehouse or spending time near the fire pit, the two stores are close enough to fold into the same visit.
- Browse Trailhead on your way out of Astra Lumina: Trailhead is positioned near the Astra Lumina entrance, making it a convenient last stop for the evening. New merchandise continues to arrive, so it’s worth a look even on a return visit.
- Start at Great Outdoors Trading Company if you’re still deciding: The street-level location requires no admission, which makes it a low-pressure way to explore Anakeesta’s merchandise before heading up the mountain. It’s also a practical option for picking up a gift or souvenir on a tighter schedule.
Your Next Shopping Trip Starts at the Top of the Mountain
The shops are one part of a broader day at Anakeesta. Between the Treetop Skywalk, the Rail Runner, Astra Lumina, and the views from AnaVista Tower, the mountain gives guests plenty to work through before and after they browse. The retail experience is built into the park’s layout in a way that makes it easy to work into any itinerary, whether you’re making a full day of it or keeping things short.
