GATLINBURG, Tenn. (April 24, 2023) –Local days are back! Some East Tennesseans will soon have the chance to enjoy spring in the Smokies at Anakeesta for just $5! Anakeesta is hosting its Local Appreciation Days for local residents and employees of multiple counties this May.
From May 8 through May 14, residents and workers in Blount, Cocke, Jefferson, and Sevier Counties will be able to enjoy a mountaintop adventure in the Smokies for just $5, all while contributing to a wonderful cause. Part of the proceeds from Local Appreciation Day sales will benefit the Friends of the Smokies.
Friends of the Smokies assists the National Park Service in its mission to protect the Great Smoky Mountains National Park through fundraising efforts, public education projects and volunteers. You can learn more about the organization by visiting their website at https://friendsofthesmokies.org/.
Guests who visit during the week will be able to enjoy the park’s Blooms and Tunes spring celebration, the mountain will feature larger-than-life spring-themed art installations, live music everyday, chef-inspired seasonal menu items and thousands of new blooms at Vista Gardens. New this year, be on the lookout for some colorful characters roaming around the park. You may just be able to catch a glimpse of a magical fairy, or have a few laughs with our Vista gardeners as they plant flowers and make Anakeesta beautiful!
To receive $5 admission, guests must show a photo ID with a current address or show a current photo ID along with a current paystub from the following counties: Blount, Cocke, Jefferson, or Sevier.
