GATLINBURG, Tenn. — A heated, week-long competition has ended in victory for Anakeesta and one of our top chefs! Anakeesta Chef Cody Sconyers was dubbed the City of Gatlinburg’s ‘BurgerMeister’ after a close competition with 16 other restaurants across the city. Each year, Gatlinburg hosts “GatlinBURGER Week,” a competition which prompts foodies to post the picture of their GatlinBURGER on social media. Anakeesta’s elevated dining establishment, Cliff Top, a renowned Smoky Mountain restaurant, offered guests the chance to eat Sconyers’ special “Tennessee Bourbon Burger.”
The City of Gatlinburg said of the burger, “The mountain vistas surrounding the restaurant were the inspiration for the “over the top” burger which thrilled guests with its half pound Angus Beef patty, smothered with slow-smoked brisket, fresh provolone cheese, crispy fried jalapeno poppers and topped with the house made bacon bourbon chutney.”
Sconyers’ dedication to whipping up a specialty burger for the ages was much appreciated by guests, staff, and city residents alike. Out of sixteen restaurants across the City of Gatlinburg, more diners posted about Anakeesta’s Tennessee Bourbon Burger than any other burger in town! But Cliff Top wasn’t Anakeesta’s only GatlinBURGER Week contestant.
Anakeesta’s other restaurant, Smokehouse, created a delicious specialty burger, as well. It came close to beating out the Tennessee Bourbon Burger. The Smokehouse’s “Smokin’ Hot Shine” burger was a fan favorite, and why wouldn’t it be? With 100 percent Angus beef, moonshine-infused BBQ pulled pork, and nacho cheese along with a house-made coleslaw and Siracha mayo, it was sure to make any burger lover drool!
