The Great Smoky Mountains, Anakeesta, and Gatlinburg are so popular, even national news teams are visiting East Tennessee to showcase what all we have to offer guests! On Tuesday, May 5, Good Morning America stopped by Gatlinburg and Anakeesta to have some fun on our Dueling Zipline.
ABC’s “Rise and Shine” segment focused on Tennessee businesses and their strength amid the pandemic. Anakeesta was the only Gatlinburg to be featured, and they arrived at the perfect time–during Anakeesta’s spring celebration Blooms and Tunes. The crew, along with ABC Correspondent Will Reeve, tested out the Dueling Zipline Challenge, facing off against each other as they zipped through the Smoky Mountain canopy.
Reeve let Anakeesta staff in on a little secret–Tuesday was his first time on a zipline. Luckily for Reeve and other members of the Good Morning America crew, they were able to experience more than 1,000 feet of safe ziplining fun going over 25 mph while at our nature-immersive park.
The crew was also able to take in the gorgeous views of the Smoky Mountains while at our newest park addition, the Vista Plaza. Vista Plaza offers seating for 200 and stunning views of Mt. LeConte, and for the hungry guests among us, it also sits right next to our new retail outlet and eatery, the Watering Can.
